A love poem

My lover is a tsabra,

So tough, with prickles too.

She’s loud and has opinions,

She expects a lot from you.

 

My lover is a tsabra,

Israeli-born and Jew,

She weeps for others suffering,

She’ll hold the line for you.

 

She’s funny, smart and tender,

She laughs with all she’s got.

She’s fierce for women’s freedom—

I think she’s smokin’ hot.

She is, too. all that, and then some…

My mom was Edith, my dad was John. I have a brother, who is Shawn. I have many friends and allies and mentors in my life.
